Victim’s Memorial Book

Soul Shaking Grief  – A Victim’s Memorial Book

We believe that only by being exposed to the painful experiences of DUI survivors can we begin to understand the life altering consequences of drunk drivers.

You’ll probably want to cry. You’ll probably get angry. Our purpose is not to make you cry. Our purpose is to make you understand how many people are devastated by a single drunk driver. Our purpose is also to make you think before you drink! If you drink when out on the town, designate a sober driver or call a cab. Hopefully after reading these stories, you will remember this!!

Incidents of death and destruction resulting from drunk driving are represented as “accidents,” but we prefer to refer to them as “crashes” since no one force feeds alcohol to people and then compels them to drive. These are their choices. The stories we collected for this book recount the consequences of their choices. Soul Shaking Grief - A Victim's Memorial Book

The Victim Memorial Booklet, “Soul Shaking Grief” is a 8.5″ x 11″ publication, with a glossy color cover. The inside pages are black and white, to represent the life of the victim being snuffed out and the joy being sucked out of the lives of the survivors.

Soul Shaking Grief is available free to the public. We intend to distribute these booklets to every ‘waiting room’ in Alaska, such as hospitals, doctor & dentist offices, DMV, auto shops, anywhere people have to sit and wait. Hopefully people will pick up a booklet, read these devastating stories and look at the pictures, thus reinforcing the fact that alcohol and driving do not mix, and if they are mixed, tragedy can be the result.

If you would like to submit a story to us, for Edition 2 please send it to us.  Also, you can attach pictures if you would like. Everyone can have a couple of pages for their story and pictures. We would like stories that tell about your loved ones hopes and dreams, what their favorite things were, what they did in their daily lives, and how the crash affected your life. You can write about the crash too. These stories can be about someone that was killed or injured by a drunk driver.

You can send the stories to: Royal & Nancy Bidwell, 5068 Pinnacle Ridge Circle, Wasilla AK 99654 or email them to us at
stopdui@forgetmenotmission.com         If you have any questions, please call us at 978-7809.

If you would like to donate so that we can have a second printing of this book (another 5,000 copies) please press the Donate Now button on the right hand sidebar or call us at 978-7809.  Thanks!

Remember, driving under the influence doesn’t just affect the person behind the wheel…..it affects the whole community.

If you can’t grab hold of this reality….then please don’t grab hold of the wheel!
