Louis Clement & Joyua Stovall

A very important request from Forget Me Not Mission!

November 11, 2009

Louis James Clement, 23, was killed by a drunk driver on November 5, 2009 in Anchorage Alaska.  His mother Brenda Clement and his sister Nicole Cleghorn are trying to get to Alaska from Iowa this week to make funeral arrangements.  We have set up an account under Louis Clement’s name at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, to help with expenses.  Louis has a one year old daughter Janiece.  His daughter’s mother, Joyua Stovall, 29, is in critical care at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Joyua also has another 3 year old daughter Jalyn.

Louis’s family found out on November 11th that he had been killed by a drunk driver when they called him to wish him a Happy Birthday.  Only after filling up his phones voice mail box did they contact neighbors to learn the horrible news.

Update on Joyua  Stovall

December 10, 2009

Joyua has been moved to St Elias Specialty Hospital, which is more of an extended care facility.  She is still being monitored, but is progressing!   She wakes up on her own now and is coherant.  She isn’t really able to talk due to the breating tube, but can write messages when she needs to communicate.  As she slowly regains more of her strength and can breathe on her own, they will begin planning the surgery to fix her pelvis and hip.

Update on Joyua Stovall

January 11, 2010

The Stovall family wants to thank everyone for their support and concern.  They said. “Joyua is making strides and will be discharged from the hospital around the 20th of this month!  She is scheduled to have her ankle repinned this week, and is able to sit up in a wheelchair and get around that way.  We are all excited that she has made so much progress, and much faster than anyone could hae predicted.”
